Where I come from I dont think we can even get tyres that would work there. If it were me, I would put some chains on before I tried this drive but I am not sure that would have worked either.

sayvethan, I don't think an h1 would even fit in that pit, let alone make it through, its too wide. As for Toyota, jeep, land rover arguments, it really depends where you live, and what you can get. Are we talking about the latest electronic gizmo vehicles or older ones with mechanical locks, solid axles, coil springs etc. The fact is, this truck is trying to get a grip on sheets of ice, no wonder he is having trouble.

Oh, and to the comment about "wicked expensive suspension"... what? My lift was right around $600USD for quality springs and shocks. That's not bad. Stock Rovers have a decent suspension at best, but it's still stock. And slightly modified 4x4 could outwheel a Rover. They just don't have enough flex or ground clearance. Toyotas have much more ground clearance in their stock form, and Jeeps and Rovers are close, but I'd still side with a Jeep just because of the price difference. |
