Some of it is play fun, Some of it is "playing hard" but in the end it all boils down to the individuals and how much time they spend training their skills.

Not only pekiti but most any FMA is good. I do mostly pekiti but cabales sarrada escrima, and many of the different styles all have the same components. Except the numbering of the angles are a bit different after seven in the different styles. They are all flow based not based on specific techniques. So the variation of outcome is up to the kalista. There is no one way to defang an angle 5 for instance each practitioner will vary based on the opponents energy and their own creativity.
