A tutorial on fast turning kicks used in karate, but which can also be applied to other martial arts. The master is Japanese and the cut is from a Japanese entertainment feature show. I don't have enough time to try and translate what he is saying, but you can work it out from his actions what he is trying to express. (If anyone wants to add a Japanese translation in the comments, go ahead!).

Agreed Kolsyrade well said. I myself hold a third Dan in Kyokushin; I also have a 1st degree blackbelt in jujitsu, and trained in many other arts. I'm 30 and have trained since I was 3; and I'll tell ya, you need to be crossed trained to be affective and I say this from experience. Also Globenavigator Kyokushin is a little bit different then other karate styles we dont really fight from a distance we're in your face and can kick ya in the head at an extremely close range say like nose to nose.

I do kyokushin and I love knockdown karate, but only a fool think you dont need to know how to grapple aswell as fight on your feet in a fight. You need to know both. Kyokushin is a good source for the standup, but need you be supplemented with some grappling training. A majority of the top kyokushin fighters and teachers has crosstrained in judo. Including The founder of Kyokushin who was a 4th dan in judo, training with the legendary Masahiko Kimura (known for defeating helio gracie)

You must try this. You will be surprised after a cople month. But first you should find a school with good reputation, and this is gona be a pure kykokushin club.

Notice the importance of the height of the knee when arming. The higher the knee the better for a faster and massive impact. Training should emphasize on getting your leg muscles as souple as possible. JCVD is a specialist in that particular technique. And remember, you should not show to your opponent the type of kick you will give. That is all in the body language... You can knock your adversary in only one kick and punch if you are mastering this technique...

you are right man. Very impressive skill..cheers

My friend, karate is the art of keeping distance with that possibility, you fight from a distance and minimize contact. That's why we kick, the faster, the harder the kick or fist to knock down. And no need to spend time wrestling. A good karateka would be the one who eliminates his opponent in a minimum of movements or even in a single kick or fist. Tempo, precision. Point. No need to waste time in wrestling...

Those kicks could real put a nasty hurting on someone. fuck MMA. land one of those kicks when someone is tring to tackle you and go for the grapple and the fight will be over even before it starts
