Man cries during tongue piercing

This video was taken in Uijongbu, South Korea. The laws there are very lax when it comes to following and enforcing them. In this case Korean law prohibits anyone from performing any body modification outside of the hospital. Hospital's are clean and safe but also more expensive. The demand among Native Koreans is also very low. It is a very respectful country where honor plays a big role in the home. The person getting his tongue pierced is a U.S. Army soldier stationed in South Korea. Soldiers have a habit of wanting to do things like this once in the Army so shops like this are quite common around Army posts. This store is a regular store that has a sign in the window and the owner doesn't look like he is trying to hide anything. None-the-less it is an illegal shop. The employees of this establishment are not certified, because no certification exists. This video was taken in late 2003, maybe early 2004. The person getting his tongue pierced started bleeding shortly after, you can see some trace on his lip towards the end of the video. He was also drunk, which thins the blood, and this may of played a role in causing him to bleed. The next morning no blood, no infection. There was some swelling for a couple days afterwards, but overall the person is healthy and suffered no long term side effects from the piercing. The Korean man spoke very little English. Most communication was done through hand signals. They agreed on a price using a calculator. He is also wearing what is called "Finger cots", not midget condoms. They are cheaper than gloves and easier for the piercer to use part of his hands for touching non-sterile items without having to remove gloves.This is a different culture, and almost everything in Korea is different. You can casually pee in the street, but don't you dare disrespect someone older than you.
