This is, of course, not considering the fact that sexuality is more of a spectrum, and almost no one is 100% gay or straight. Most men admit to having gay experiences, whether fullblown relationships, or something smaller, like comparing penises in a locker-room.

This is the internet, nothing is certian. By saying 'his fucked up mind' that would be refering to how incredibly fragile and desperate he is. Since he is not gay, yaoi cannot be a problem. The concept that the two are actually gay, is simply just misinterpretation.

Sir, I'M Japanese, I'm well aware. I'm not talking just the fact they showered, but their interactions IN the shower. Kaworu, at the least, was very forward, and regardless of his intentions, Shinji interpretted that way. Plus, when you say "Shinji's fucked up mind is the real problem", you imply that the cause is a problem, thus signifying Yaoi.

when did I imply that yaoi was a problem? I may not like it, but I won't bash it. Also, japanese customs are different, they are much more open about things like that. My cousin said he had a hard time adjusting to the life style in Japan, after growing up in the states. It's quite common for men to bathe together in Japan, that is why NERV had those huge showers to begin with. lol

I'll just pretend that you didn't imply yaoi was a problem. Even still, yes, Shinji was in that mindset when he met Kaworu, NO ONE is denying that, but he was so desperate that he wanted to invest himself in Kaworu entirely and vice versa. While unhealthy to a point, a psychologist would tell you that it was in the "love" spectrum. Circumstances or not, the relationship between them has homoerotic undertones. That was made PAINFULLY obvious with the shower scene.

well, I doubt it :p . It seems more like a circumstantial thing then anything else. Shinji's fucked up mind being the real probelm here. everyone he knows has pretty much been cut off, and finally someone finally shows up that actually thinks of him as a respectable human being. of course hes going to want to be around him. Evangelion tries to leave so much as vague as possible so people will argue about it...much like we're doing now.

Well of course that would make SHINJI bisexual (or heterosexual+homoaffectual), but regardless, within the specific connection between the two, Boy's Love is heavily, heavily implied, with no real reason to doubt it.
