Bowling for Dollars looks like it was a really good show. It would be cool if Fox 8 brought that show back.

Funny the things you read about your hometown you didn't know of. The only problem was that Toledo never had a true indie station until the mid 80's when they could've had one a decade before. We missed out on a lot of stuff we had to watch from Detroit and/or Cleveland stations.

Toledo? I read that too, until it was moved to Allen Park.

WOW...I never knew Wild Cherry was from Cleveland....and what happened to Susan Howard...I wonder what's she's doing now.

Forget Wild Cherry... Susan Howard was what would have made me want to tune in! Of course, nothing could beat the video of her brandishing a gun on the Newscenter 8 set during their coverage of the Reagan assassination attempt. (It's on one of Ray Glasser's clips from that day.)

Only the best investigative news for Cleveland. On tour with Wild Cherry for one week! Daily reports on the nightly news about the ins and outs of the band behind "Play That Funky Music White Boy."

Although I don't think my city ever had it's own Bowling for Dollars program, I've read someplace a bowling alley here was used for the Detroit edition. |
