Rough is certainly the word. I thought she was like a cyclone, leaving the sensitivities of the musicians around her strewn all of the stage, Even when she tuned, I thought she was likely to break a string. I am sure at the back of the hall it is great - pretty from far, but far from pretty!

He was her teacher. Gutman has a very nice sound but when compared with Rostropovich all fall short.

If you want amazing, Rostropovich's postings of H's two concertos in my opinion are much better than Gutman's. Rostro's techinque is more effective and his sound is much larger.

I saw her once playing the dvorak and she was so rough. You either love it or hate it but it's certainly different. It's understandable sometimes why she has so many tendonitis problems. |
