I had the same thought you did. How can we even make a calculation with certainty about something that is not totally understood. What I think would be interesting is when Hubble is replaced with a more powerful eye, aiming at that deep field area again. Then focusing on a dark patch within the deep field and focusing further too see if there is even more. I must have watched this vid about 5 times already.

Amazing and wonderful...but I think we are rather premature in saying the universe is XXX light years across. Thats utter rubbish. The universe is infinate and was not created by a 'big bang'. So many interesting theories, but none are true. All the same, we must continue the never ending study of the heavens!
