When a western child needs to train to get a gold medal at the olympics, Westerners say that's a great Child with great parents backing him/her up, but when China does the same they call it child abuse!

I think westerners just need to realise when there are 1million+ gymnasts across the country competing for just 7 sports on an olympic team... its obvious that in a sport like gymnastics where u only get 2-3 years to reach international competitiveness... then its either this way... or NO WAYif u westerners think this is inhumane... hand ur money over and adopt these people.

Berkely is a high exception: the same goes for Harvard (esp Harvard), Stanford, and Yale. About 90% of the colleges/universities in US are either modestly funded or underfunded. Beijing University has the richest alumni(lots of billionaires) funding it, closely followed by Zhejiang and Qinghua. There's no way that these schools lack money. Also - what's most important is per capita instead of the overall funding...but we're getting a little off track in terms of topic, aren't we? |
