Saarinen was my hero in my late teens and Renzo was a great rider we all miss them. if it was today they would still be here due to safety. but we live and learn..God be with you both a nd thank you for letting us see you race..long live road racing

There are some images and archive footage and explainations about that accident at the end of the video. Aaro Saarinen was really unlucky because while he was driving he was hit at his head by Pasolini's bike that was flying back on the track after its crash on wardrail. Aaro (who was 2nd) rose up to brake on because he saw Pasolini's (who was 1st) crash but he didn't see the bike that killed him. It was the 1st bend in the 1st lap.

Great video, never forget these great riders. I am the owner from Börje Janssons Yamaha (startnumber 4 at this race) which was also involte in that accident. Searching everything (pictures, video...) from that race. Mabyee somebody can help me. Regards Torsten

That's Michel Rougerie on 2:39, Walter Willa's team mate. Very sad, Pasolini was a geat rider.
