the cop makes a good point,but the dog should have been treated like a human being tooif that officers canine was shot by some asshole then he would probably call for back up and try to teat his dog like a human...So i think he could have been less hard on the driver,And more helpfull.But i do agree with the cop!

Actually, the officer's partner never actually helped but declared the dog was going to die and nothing could be done to save her.

"This man's world was collapsing, and what the officer says to him is, 'I don't care,'" said San Marcos Police Department Chief Howard Williams. Stephens was ordered to undergo psychological evaluation. Missy, the dog, died in the lap of the female owner during detainment.

The other cop rushed right over to help the woman care for the choking dog. Now that is a good man, and a cop everyone should appreciate! He tried - he could have just sat in the patrol car (and someone will help him out somehow one day too -- good comes to good)! Of course once macho man, power trip cop realized his partner had it under control, it gave him more license to berate and belittle the driver/owner -- and mock his bipolar disorder.

TECHNICALLY and LOGICALLY and LEGALLY, yes, the cops is 100% correct. HUMANELY, MORALLY and ETHICALLY, the cop is wrong. The cruel things the cop said after learning of the situation, and even mocking the owner. It seems that the cop kept them there long enough for the dog to die. I truly believe, based on the cop's behavior, that he intentionally prolonged the stop to punish the man for not stopping initially, and for the aggravation it caused the cop. It was a power play during a power trip!

why did someone put a negative on my comment im not talking shit. i just told u about what happend 2 me with the cops. it all started when my family and i moved 2 the rich naborhood and they said they were going 2 watch us and mostly my dad maybe because the color of his skin is brown and they alwayz followed him everywhere he went.
