Kimono and Yukata would be unfinished without the Obi. It's basically a MUST HAVE. But if you are just wearing it around the house then I don't see why you can't. :)

what if you don't have a obi??i bought my yukata at a mall and it didn't come with the obi!!!am i suppose to buy it or can i just wear the yukata with the obi?

Thanks very much for the upload! My friend is gonna be in a Yukata contest at a Matsuri tomorrow and we panicked when we forgot how to tie the Obi. ^^; I'm supposed to help her put on the Yukata, so we're watching this together. Thanks again!
