The lack of education and the dumbing down of our youths has lead to this. Instead of learning history in school or through research we have allowed entertainers (Bill O'Rielly, Shawn Hannity, Micheal Moore, and others) to manipulate history on the tube. Entertainment News Organizations like CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc.. are a business which sell products and play with our emotions. More than have of what we see politically is staged. Those that break from the norm won't even attend the debates.

Were not fighting the Sith lords from star wars, we're fighting a whisper in the hills of Pakistan (911 was only able to happen because of the bungling of the military in the first place). A trillion dollars a year on defense spending during a time of technical peace. That spending could fuel the economy, fund clean energy, education, and health care.
