From the little i've seen, kicking people is not as effective as a good punch to the face. It seems that all kicking does is make you lose your balance and open yourself up for a knockout blow.

mma is different that k1. with k1 is kickboxing with different styles. with mma you can slap him in the face if you want to or hit him to the ground he continue hitting him
