enigmaticdarkness knows his stuff! off that subject, Kawada is famous for very real knees and kicks to the face and head. Don't know if it's true or not, but I heard since it's publicly known about Fujita's skull being thicker than average..people legitamitly try and hit him in the head thinking he'll be ok...Kawada kneed him so hard in some matches you could hear his knee brace "klinging" on Fujita's head!!

What the fuck is with all these MMA fanboys crying about wrestling? Don't like, don't watch. Just remember: Pro wrestlers have historically done better in MMA than Mixed Martial Artists have done in pro wrestling. The reason is fairly obvious: In MMA, you have to be tough. In pro wrestling, you have to be tough AND entertaining. Therefore, pro wrestling < MMA.

Shoot-style itself is modeled after shootfighting, brought by Karl Gotch to Japan. And what was Gotch known for? Catch wrestling, or Lancashire catch-as-catch-can style. Now you all know how these two things, Puroresu and MMA, are at once similar to, and different from, each other.Sorry for the long post.

(continuation)That said however, the MMA phenomenon we know today will not be complete without two phases: the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in the West (courtesy of one guy we know as Maeda Mitsuo, who taught the first generation of the Gracies--namely, Carlos, Gastão Jr., Jorge and Hélio), and the forming of UWF in Japan, which had Puro greats such as Satoru Sayama, Yoshiyaki Fujiwara, Nobuhiko Takada, to name a few, introduce martial arts to wrestling (what we now call shoot-style).

To all you folks comparing Puro to MMA and vice versa, saying one is better than the other, I say this: Piss the fuck off. Both have their merits, and comparing one to the other makes as much sense as dangling your cajones on top of a meat grinder.

although mma is real, i would still go for pro wrestling despite the fact its a fake entertainment cuz mma is kinda boring when the two fighters lie on the ground for a long time, hitting each other...what a waste of time..i like K-1 and boxing though..they are fun to watch..and pro wrestling..its way even more fun. why? cuz it has good storyline, characters and performance
