I think the last score was the most approximate to the fight. It was a lot closer than the other two judges saw it.

I remember that this fight was considered a pretty mediocre show at the time. If we had a hw championship fight of this caliber today it would be the fight of the year.

styles make fights you idiots. all this talk about who would beat who. it's nonsense. it's simple. ali was the best. he took the best shots, the best boxer, slugged it out with the biggest punchers when he had to, played mental games with boxers heads, reflexes, master of the clinch(he could tie up anyone),knew what to do in the last rounds to win when fights were close, etc.etc. Ali was the boxing masters master. after 1975, some of these things were questionable.before that, pure magic!

Holyfield was supposed to be washed up for the Tyson fight.Holyfield wasn't in Tyson's division until 1988 anyway.

what the hell does age have to do with it foolish one? The mind is what counts not the age and mentally Mike was out of it. I'm pretty sure had Holyfield expirienced what Mike did at such a young age his mind wouldn't all be there itself! Holyfield always had good people around him, he came into boxing at the right age unlike Mike who was clearly too young to be such a great champ. Prime for prime Mike Tyson is far better and here is another fact for you, Holyfield was ducking Mike in the 80's!

Holyfield is 4 years older than Tyson and he was 25-1 against to win before the fight. If anyone should have been past it, it was Holyfield but he was and still is the superior fighter.By 1990, Tyson stopped throwing combinations and crouching and he stood bolt upright. Holyfield would have beaten him any time after that.

Except for the fact that Foreman has been ducking Larry Holmes forever. I think everyone in their right mind would have a reason to duck Larry Holmes, I believe he would have out boxed the much slower George Foreman, leaving Foreman's face all swollen up. However, Mike Tyson will always have Larry Holmes number!

No excuse for Holyfield. Holmes had tuneups leading to that fight. In addition, Holmes and Foreman both found success fighting the young heavies of the 90s. This does mean Holmes got better with time, it means that time have gotten worst in the heavyweight division.

keep dreaming kid, no matter how you look at it, a prime Tyson knocked Holmes the hell out! Holyfield destroyed a past it Tyson but couldn't a far far more passed it Larry Holmes. Give me a break asshole the only thing this proves is that Larry Holmes is a true fighter who got more wise with age. Either way prime for prime Mike Tyson would beat Larry Holmes because Holmes knows nothing more than boxing. |
