Kumite has no headpunches. Well, it's simple, bare knuckle head punches have been banned, even in the UFC. If they want headpunches aswell they can check out full contact karate with gloves. :)

KARATE is definitely very useful and strong M.A(you can see the K-1 fighter name is 'Andy Hug', he using lots of powerful Karate skills)and also give lots of effect to other M.A e.g, TaeKwonDo.TaeKwonDo copy a lot of kick skills from KARATE.if you want to learn more deadly skills, there is KyoKuShin Karate.

Pettas is good but has this nasty habit of being kicked in the nose that is not helping him much

To an extent you're right, BUT.. it depends what circuit you watch. Kyokushin is popular these days, so you have a lot more fighters- with so many you're bound to see some who don't fight as gracefully, for the lack of a better word. But that doesn't mean there aren't many others who have impeccable style and form reminiscent of the Oyama days. Kyokushin is a beautiful style. We are watching a SPORT version of kyokushin. What happens in the dojo ie broken teeth.. you wont see on youtube, ever.
