Where were you in 2004? Didn't you hear that it was the most undermanned USA basketball team in the post-Dream Team era? So many NBA elites refused to represent their country that year. The roster consisting of "talents" such as Emeka Okafor, Lamar Odom, Stephon Marbury, etc... while some of the NBA's real elites played on the opposing teams. Give me a break!

Bullshit! There are lots of athletes out there who have won a gold medal and nothing else afterwards. Winning a medal isn't a disgrace for an individual in the Olympics. In the case of basketball, the whole team is responsible for the win. Christian Laettner won a gold medal and never competed in the olympics afterwards. Is he the best? Hell no!
