Its would be very hard to actaully bite flesh right off, but its usefull if you have nothing else and to make to guy let go. That said, if a guy has a good lock in and he's tuff he wont let a bite bug him. The stuff is effective, just not to the point many claim. Also, some things that are to one person and a certian time may not be to a differnt person at a differnt time. You cant break it all down, so its best to be ready with a slew of differnt attacks.

Bitting sometimes work when you're in certain locks and want out. Have someone bite you until they pull up meat and flesh and tell me you won't let go of them. I look at it like this, a 6'2 guy jumps a 5'4 guy. Only thing you got is a bite. Would you use it? And yea hair pulling only works when you're setting up another move like a knee, elbow, or a punch to the throat

Great video, and great representation of Krav Maga in action. What if the guy at 1:03 was only trying to give him a hug though? That would suck...

Honorable fighting is sport, a way to tell the best fighter. I a real fight the enviroment and the unexpected come into play, and it isnt fair. Even to best fighter will be tested if you jump up behind him and get him in a good choke or something of the like. That said, the fair fighters many times end up beating those too use to using certain things to their advantage, even in a real fight.

I dont imagine bitting or hair pulling as being effective, though a hit to the neck of a person who has his hair pulled back would work. That said, when you fight multiple people its more about quickly getting them out of the way. You can evade a group of five and beat them back, but you cant truely win against each.

Like in most demonstrations, effectiveness is exagerated. For example, falling down because of hits. In a real fight(or so I take from MMA) people dont just fall down from one strike. The actual art is trustworthy, but the demo isnt.

You do what you need to do to survive. "Honorable fighting" was something invented simply to slow people down. If my life is at stake, I don't give a crap about face shots or not doing cheap shots, I am going to use every dirty trick in the book. |
