I lived in the predominantly Muslim area of Amsterdam and loved it, although my blonde girlfriend wouldnot leave the house without me escorting her as she felt she was being leered at, also I found the constant hocking and spitting on the footpaths a bit offensive, its one of the most densely populated places in the world and a small minority choose not to assimilate and make life unpleasant for those that do, this is not an anti muslim comment, just an observation on what I experienced

Ayaan Hirsi Ali (who was there, I might add)admitted that it was a Muslim of the Brotherhood of Muslims that started in Somali and were now refugees in Holland that murdered him. Read the book "Infidel" by: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, it has much better insight than wikipedia.
