Kurt said alot of sarcastic things... but it is true that pop was part of his formula, but only inasmuch as he stole the "loud-quiet-loud" thing from The Pixies. Its a funny argument to say that Nirvana WAS pop. Most POPular music uses pop as an element in order to be catchy.

Nirvana was a pop music sensation?-_- this proves that u kno NOTHING about nirvana whahahaha..imagine..whahaha..nirvana only made maybe 1 or 2 pop songs i gueszz. P.S. Alice in chains..is OK..nothing more or less.

You can't really compare Alice in Chains and Nirvana, they're almost opposites. Nirvana was a pop music sensation, they had a more universal sound to them which more people got into. Alice in Chains was much more metal than Nirvana, and there's always been a smaller number of metal fans than pop fans. Both awsome bands in my opinion I can't prefer one over the other.
