bipolaroreokicker if your school is accredited under the ibjjf then you will not receive your blue belt till you are 16 the most likely thing if you are so good they may skip you to purple since you have "put lots of time and skill into the rolling" even the gracies wouldnt not even give their children blue belts under 16 stop using the gracie card the highest belt you can obtain is green

I respect what the gracies have done with jiu jitsu but now adays they are just about money. I mean a shirt that says gracie jiu jitsu on there website was 40$ I mean really. Jiu jitsu wouldnt be where it is at today or be as popular with out them though.

What McDonald's ass school are you in? I was in Kokopelli's when I was 13, and there wasn't a blue belt available for me- and we ALL rolled with the adults. Go look up Kokopelli's, Machado AND Gracie JJ.And instructors who supposedly trained with the Gracies sure as shit wouldn't give you a bluebelt at 13. Bull-fucking-shit, kid lolSo yeah, if you've really got it, post your school name. Let's see if they really gave you a Blue. If not, shut your dicksuckers and go learn.Semper Fi, kid.

Completely agree. I just got my wife into Muay Thai and Brazilian JJ, and her progress is incredible. We both carry firearms as well, but the peice of mind from knowing that she is well protected (as tiny as she is) is excellent. It's a discerning thing to see a 115 lb 5'5 girl preform a double-leg takedown on a 200lb guy and start hunting for submits.

Everyone has been with the Gracies. Bunch of ballwashing bastards in my opinion.
DarkBeam (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
well It think thats retarded. People are pretty much giving away belts these days. You should not be able to get a blue belt. Oh and by the way alot of instructors now aways have been trained with the gracies,
