Wing Chun does to an extent train the foundation and principles for it, but its up to the student to perfect it to maximize short range potential. However, Wing Chun isnt the only style which uses it. So does Tai Chi, as well as many other Chinese systems. Probably originally from Shaolin, over 1500yrs ago. Wing Chun is however one of the systems which has made it more publically open. As before, it was the highest kept secret that only a select few would get taught.

from what i know the 1 inch punch is a wing tsun movement and its very much real.

Why are MAs worried about who believes what? The less people who believe in these techniques, hell, MA in general, the better! If they don't believe in it they won't be defending against it and are handing you a victory! Remember, we as MAs want people to discover our skills the hard way...and far too late. haw can it be a myth? its just a punch from 1 inch away there is nothing mythical or majic about that you just put your hand 1 inch away from the object and then punch as hard as u can and there u go a punch take from 1 inch away
