I'll make no attempts to make myself sound smart here: I haven't messed around with Premiere, so I really don't know.If Adobe puts as much pride into it as they did Photoshop, though, it must be a powerful program.

It's pretty good. The video I did with me shooting a K-31 was done with Premiere CS3, and no previous experience with it. Took a few minutes. And I know I'm not coming close to using it to it's full potential, but it's easy enough to edit video, and then compress it into a quality format that's still great for YouTube.

You all know that like, 95% of all major Movie making firms like, Pixar, for example, all use Macs to make their movies. I think the numbers speak for them self.

How does Adobe Premiere CS3 compare to Final Cut?

Meh, it funny, but I am a PC girl. Been one ever since I accidentally crashed my Dad's work computer when I was randomly typing. (I erased all the data!)

Final Cut Studio 2 is actually $1300. Still not cheap, but then there's Final Cut Express, which is $200, and still blows Movie Maker out of the water. And iMovie, which is still better, is free. I have a kickass PC rig and a Mac G5 in my home, so I'm not a fanboy, but the fact is that Macs just have better tech for moviemaking than PCs.
