That's what all kumite exhibitions are really prearranged exhibitions. Only difference will be in difficulty level of the techniques.

This was all just set up. It was rehearsed,so we really don't know if he could have done this in real combat. This was just showmanship for the crowd. You will never see these techniques in a Shotokan match. They don't teach this to their students.

I think that in today's society, knocking out students might bring legal problems to the instructor. Fortunately for me, my Japanese instructor was sane and a great teacher. The worst he ever did was yell at us. Kanazawa has always been a very physically fit person and was very coordinated. |
