Great story teller, horrible stories. But horrible in an enlightened kind of way.

He's such a cool guy... You'd expect him to be kind of a douche from the stuff he writes, but he's cool. I'm gonna go buy another one of his books...

He said in an interview once that he usually writes characters that he hates...which, as you said, is a mark of an excellent writer.

Wow, this guy is absolutely charming & what a story teller. It choked me up thinking of stories from my childhood.

So true. Seeing him in person he's so nice, but his characters are mostly terrible people. It's a great aspect of a writer when he can put a different facade on while creating his characters and write these wonderful, penetrative books.

Palanhiuk is one of the most brilliant modern authors out there, because he's not afaid of writing about taboo subjects. He leaves no stone unturned, and I find that very admirable. He seems like such a nice and normal guy that it's almost shocking how dark and subversive he can get. |
