High-end tournament play still sees a lot of 'gief players. Don't know about this one yet, but assuming you can clear the long-range gap, his zoning-into-SPDs and crossup combos were viscious. Some of the faster characters like Fei Long and Cammy tended to fare worse in the competitive scheme.

I hate that this zangief does not do the SPD like the hyperfigthing zangief, this one miss a lot of grabs. the other one just grab you from far away no questions ask. sf 2 turbo rules + zangief.

Zangeif a cheap character? There are many other very fast characters with plenty or combos in their arsenal to make zangeief a horrific character to use. And just because he has a grappling move that can be used at advantage, it is a cheap character? And zangeif users have to stick to an enemy to be effective. Its not for faint of cowardly players. Ultra fast reaction helps though.
