Elbows and knife hands are allowed in MMA. Elbows get thrown all the time. Knife hand doesn't because there are better options.

As said before, it is not the martial art, it is the martial artist. It doesn't matter what "style" you take if you can't use it properly. Also both striking AND grappling are required to be a balanced fighter, not one or the other. We need to stop fighting about this and realize this. Also things like UFC, while they are the closest thing we have to real combat, are limited by rules and will never be REAL combat. Real combat has no rules so be balanced and dedicated in your training.

The reason why 'grappling' win over 'striking' in some MMA tourney are because of rules. It's always like that. Imagine what happen if you can use elbow or knife hand freely, it'd be devastating. We are taught to use that in TKD but not for the tournament. Take the above ITF tourney. It's already good enough to let the fighters throw punches at faces. But no body blows allowed, no kick in legs allowed and no strike other than punch allowed. What happened if it's being allowed ?It'll be Butchery

What a load of crap. You will never get to grapple if a decent kicker lands a kick and knocks you out.No style is superior, if the kicker is better the kicker will win, if the grappler is better the grapler will win. People are superior not styles.
