Why I love Aikido, because technique is so much harder than going out and kicking like a jackass, I rather save energy that waste it,and then on the other I like something that makes you think, kicking is nothing anyone can do that but how many can do technicque?!if you dont like using your brain then you can do mma and other camp sport that they have.I will summarize aikido, it´s like a gun its for home protection, you should only use it if you have to. Respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend, it makes no sense to have an aikido fighter in MMA. The philosophy in aikido is avoid fighting, thus you are trying to stop a person hurting you rather than try to hurt others. It makes no sense that such a person would take up a bloodsport.

They are similar, but Aikido is more a harmonious form of Ji Jutsu, but locks and throws are very similar.

we should have aikido fighters in MMA too bad...it is efective technik specialy against Rushers, panchers, kickers

If he was arrogent about it then yeah, not maney Pure styles are able to stand up any more, Personaly I like the style I'm starting to develop from the mixture of what I've taken, Also those aikedo moves were you lead the guy arround like a rag doll, Those aren't easy to get out of, cause your dang near falling head first-forword the whole time.Jiu-jitsu...I've been wondering about that art, how much different is it than Aikedo, I've thought there around the same thing, but i've never taken it

wooow, being sarcastic.he believed he was a master because he thought he was better than us jiu-jitsu practitioners at the tournament i was in.the master got served that day, fed right in the face.

i am basing it on one guy because he believed he was the best.. SOLELY because he did aikido. it's b.s. I do jiu-jitsu, one of the main streams of MMA, and I can admit it is basically obsolete because of MMA and our club is exclusively mixed now. My only point is that one style won't hold you up anymore in competition. MMA is where it's at

lol 16? Not an Aikido master at all... Go watch some videos about Tissier and you'll see what a real master of Aikido will look like.
Olbladele (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
If your basing all of this on one guy, (and style fights are stupid, every style has a point and can be aplied if you know what your doing) Then your dum as fuck and should go kill your self, It all depends on the person, Also I'd agree with you that Strait Aikedo isn't the way to go, elements of Aikedo are in MMA though (dam near everything has gone into MMA).

an aikido guy came into a tournament i entered last year. he faced my little brother (14) against this guy (16) who was a much higher belt than my white belt brother. aikido master left with a broken jaw crying. true story. must have been humbled a bit to face a style superior to his own.
