Trading volume is the pressure that pushes averages up and down. Yesterday's volume was not that high, considering the percentage move. This is actually a good thing, because it indicates that traders who want out of this market have already sold out, and are now waiting for signs that conditions are going to improve. When they do, there is a lot of capital ready to buy back in, and equity prices will rise, possibly very quickly. |
