Thanks for accepting my video response.I'm amazed to listen to mine, and then come here, and there's old Smoky still belting out a tune 50 yrs later. And what a tune- this is such a beautiful song.Every time I watch it, I get tears in my eyes. The man may be gone, but his ledgend will last for eternity. He was a truly unique Australian that we can & will be forever proud of!

My wife and I were privileged to attend the "The HILLS CENTRE" in Sydney Australia on 19/2/2008 (Smoky's 95 birthday) to honor the passing of a great Australian. Mr. Smoky Dawson and Dot were part of Australian entertainment for 8 decades, starting in the 1920's through into WW 2 in an AIF entertaining unit right up to the passing of Smokey at 95 years in 2008. A GREAT GREAT AUSTRALIAN has left the this brown land of Australia to perform in Gods heaven. |
