i run a gracie jiu jitsu school. trust me, guys try this stuff. it only gets them hurt more. do yourself a favor and go train jiu jitsu just one night and fell what it offers.

You've obviously never fought on the ground. If a grappler is fighting someone with no ground experience it will etremely rare for the unexperienced fighter to be in a position to punch, let alond bite or choke or smash an his oponent's adams apple. Discipline's that focus only on striking will not survive on the ground, and its been proved countless times

If your arm is getting broken or if you're getting choked out, your overwhelming instinct is going to be to stop the choke or free your arm...not bite or break fingers. That's because evolution programmed your brain to realize that a broken finger is no trade-off for you being maimed or strangled to death.Nonetheless, if you allow those sorts of things, then the Jiu Jitsu man can do them also. It won't make much difference to who would win other than causing pointless small injuries.

Simple, if that karate fighter would break a finger of Rorion, Royce would break his arm. I'm pretty sure it would make no difference in these fights. The BJJ figher is always superior on the ground.

ok lets put in finger breaking and eye gouging and ball grabbing and choking and atoms apple breaking deadly moves in karate that they dont' allow in there tournament that would stop ground figthign real quick. Once again rules are built so they have advantage but really ground fighting is dangerous in real life i seen people get hurt bad thinkings its a ufc fight and they end up with a life threatening injury. Theres even a form of martial arts thast based on biting. Wrestling crap is a joke

You could train both Karate and BJJ and someday become as good as Lyoto Machida.OR you could go on quarreling in the comment box and remain a nobody. The choice is yours.
