Amen to that! people just don't realise they can empower their self, the Pharmaceutical Industry is divisive at best and selective on financial considerations first and foremost.

Look for colleges that do herbal medicine courses, but to do the courses you usually need a good biology grade, but if you havnt you can always re-study. I had to re-study but i also learnt from a wise woman near where i lived so it turned out pretty peachy lol

Say what you will about whether marijuana, opium, coca, etc. should or should not be legal ... but to make them schedule one and declare them to have no valid healthcare uses is totally ignorant. Because, indeed, they do have scientifically validated medical activity and those that make them illegal know it. Problem is, because they are natural substances they can't be patented and they would take a lot of business away from the "legal" patenable drugs.

Then, your presumption that the herbs and Poppy exudate you mention "are illegal because they work" is utter nonsense and simply has no basis in science or the legislature which classifies these substances as being illegal. In fact, if you knew the first thing about the scheduling of these substances, you'd know the US Govt. considers them to have no valid health benefit, thereby limiting even medical research.

Both of your statements are extraordinarily ignorant. The fact that a multi-billion dollar herbal products industry exists here in the US, where people have access to prescription drugs and countless OTC medications, completely nullifies your first statement. They use them because they are accessible, affordable, and quite often effective.

"The only reason people would self medicate with herbs is because they cannot get their hands on the proper pharmaceutical extracts without a prescription."...as a registered medical herbalist (in practice with MDs, DOs, and NPs), people more often prefer botanical medicine because of traumatic or ineffective experience with pharmaceuticals.

Awesome video with great information that was well presented! Herbs are so useful... years ago they helped to restore me from a state of dis-ease, chronic fatigue and poor blood sugar balance (metabolic syndrome) back to health, vitality and get-up-and-go.
