This style of drum corps captured the audience of the 70's. Today's corps are designed to capture a modern audience that lives off of video games and TV. They need all that flash and power to keep people interested. The style will change as the audience changes, and that's how it will always be.

When things change too fast,they tend to also go away faster.DCI is cannabilizing the smaller corps to keep itself going.Now they are just beginning to do the same to all age corps.Slow down.

Um shows back then had way easier music and drill then drum corps today. If DCI has changed, it's been for the better.

Great video. Throughout history, corps copied ideas, songs, props, etc. The Shaker Dance belongs to SCV. I always get a chill when I see the Shaker Dance. Old drum corps is truly the best!
